When Alaska legalized recreational marijuana, she applied to be on her local marijuana advisory committee. Nearly done with her application, the board commented that if she wanted to be part of the lawmaking team she could not be involved with retail cannabis. She made her choice, and Weed Dudes opened in Sitka on New Years Eve 2016.
